Privacy policy

This policy explains how Mamezu handles account information, images and design projects. Mamezu is maintained by Ben Hsieh and offers local editing with optional cloud storage and sharing.
Local data
In local mode, image conversion and editing happen in your browser. Projects, images and saved versions are stored in its IndexedDB. Language, appearance and recent-project preferences are also stored in your browser. Signing in alone does not upload local projects. Data does not automatically move between domains or browsers.
Google and email sign-in
Google sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication. Mamezu receives your account identifier, email address, display name, profile photo and email-verification status to identify your account, display sign-in status and restrict access to private projects. Only basic sign-in information is requested, not Gmail, Drive or contacts access. Firebase handles email/password sign-in. Mamezu does not receive your Google password.
Cloud storage
When you choose cloud storage, project content, names, dimensions, previews and images are uploaded to Google Firebase. Firestore stores project manifests; Cloud Storage stores design data and images. The database and bucket are currently in the US us-central1 region. Account-based rules protect private data. The service maintainer and necessary infrastructure services may access it for maintenance or handling your requests.
Sharing
Sharing publishes a separate, read-only PNG snapshot that anyone with the link can view and download. Your private editable project is not published. You can revoke a share, but downloaded copies cannot be recalled. Deleting a project does not revoke existing shares; revoke unwanted links in sharing management first.
AI connections and MCP
When you connect and authorize an AI service such as ChatGPT or Claude, it can read or modify your cloud projects within the approved scopes and receive previews and bead counts. Images supplied through tools are processed on the server and saved as private cloud projects. Mamezu stores connection grants, job status, tool names, call times and usage points, with no automatic deletion period currently configured. You can revoke access in AI connections and usage, but cannot recall data already delivered to the AI service; its handling is governed by its own privacy policy. Local-only projects are not automatically provided to AI.
Retention and deletion
Deleting a project removes it from the library and prevents stale tabs from restoring it. It does not currently erase all historical versions or shared image assets immediately. These retained records have no automatic expiry configured. Clearing browser site data removes local data in that browser, not cloud data. Contact the email below to request account or cloud-data deletion; account ownership will be verified first.
Service providers and tracking
Mamezu uses Google Firebase for hosting, authentication, databases and file storage. Google may process IP addresses, device information and technical logs to operate and secure these services. Mamezu does not sell Google account data or use it for advertising; it is used only for sign-in and the user-facing features described in this policy.
Optional Google Analytics
Only after you allow analytics do we load Google Analytics 4. It uses cookies and browser identifiers to measure visits, engagement time, device information, approximate region and actions such as importing images or exporting PNGs, to improve the product. We exclude project names, image/text content, share IDs, account UIDs and email addresses, and strip URL query parameters. Ad personalization and Google signals are disabled. Declining below stops collection and clears this site’s GA cookies; it does not automatically erase previously sent data.
Your choices
You can use local mode without signing in, sign out, or revoke Mamezu access in your Google Account settings. Revoking Google access does not automatically delete previously stored cloud data. If our data practices change, we will update this page and its update date.
